Our History

Founded on July 8, 1988, António Ezequiel, Lda developed its activity focusing on the wholesale and retail marketing of food products and beverages mainly for the HoReCa channel.

Starting the activity in a small warehouse with an area of ​​approximately 150 m2, in the parish of Dominguizo, the partners soon felt the need for better and bigger installations, in order to increase their storage capacity as well as to offer their customers a pleasant space in the which they could acquire the specialized products that the company marketed.

At the end of 1990, the building of an old textile factory was acquired, which, after undergoing deep works of adaptation, restoration and decoration, became the company’s headquarters. The building is located in an area of ​​great accessibility, on the main road that serves as a connection to the entire south of the municipality of Covilhã.

The company quickly reached the representation and distribution, with exclusive status, of Nestle’s chocolates and juices, as well as Nicola coffees. This, due to having a strong presence and image in the market, a good internal organization and adequate qualification and competence of the sales team, which combined with an extreme motivation on the part of the managing partners, led large companies worldwide in this field, as the latter to establish exclusive distribution contracts.

With its evolution, the company started to represent and distribute Nestlé chocolates and juices, Camy ice cream, later Nestlé, deep-frozen Findus, Food service Fima and Nestlé, Kraft Jacobs Suchard products, Izidoro / Damatta, frozen pastry Mestre Pasteleiro and Sical coffees , having exclusive contracts with all these brands.

The company has managed to evolve and be recognized as a model among the main suppliers, focusing mainly on the excellence of the service provided, on constant innovation and on the responsibility for the professional performance of its missions.

In 1999, António Ezequiel, Lda, formed an ACE with other companies in the sector, which allowed the company to expand the range of products to be sold, namely in terms of food services and also to compete in prices using its own brands (DIHOR and Pro-boss).

In 2006 the company obtained the certification by the norm ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 22.000, being the first company of Beira Interior to reach this aim.

In order to respond to the growth needs of recent years and the challenges of the future, the company built the new facilities in the Industrial Zone of Tortosendo, with a covered area of ​​3600m2 and 2800m3 of cold area, thus constituting the most modern logistics warehouse in Beira Interior .
In 2018 and following the development of the Quiel Cash & Carry business, and having created a sales team focused on the food retail channel, A. Ezequiel joined the Unimark and EuromadiPort shopping centers.
